One Minute Evangelism

This Morning I was in line at a local grocery store. I always plan on giving the cashier a gospel tract. I noticed that the cashier was wearing a gold cross necklace. A thought came into my head, "She doesn't need a tract, she's wearing a cross." I told her that I liked her necklace, she said thank you. Then, I asked her "What does it mean?" She paused and said that she didn't know, it was a gift from her son. I handed her a gospel tract and told her that it would tell her what it stands for. 

Just because someone wears a cross, does not mean that they are a Christian. I am glad I asked her what did the cross mean. I am hoping she will think about it today and read the tract I gave her. Hopefully, the Holy Spirit will open her eyes and understanding. Tracts are a great way to share your faith. 

Witnessing to someone does not require a degree from Biola University. Go out today, hand out a tract, talk to someone, be a witness for Jesus Christ.

  Happy New Year! The day after Christmas I approached two Jehovah's Witnesses and asked them their reasoning for not celebrating Christmas. Below are ten questions you can use to ask a Jehovah's Witness or someone else who you are concerned is in a high control group. Now, these questions are designed to help your Jehovah's Witness friend to start thinking critically because they are become conditioned to rely on an organization to think for them.  These questions are not designed to just start blasting one after the other at a Jehovah's Witness. They way to use these questions is by genuinely asking them in a calm setting and allowing your friend to answer. The truth that sets free is Jesus!

This person left a comment on one of my "shorts" where I describe the agenda in a JW Book Study. Ironically, for them the truth in John 8 is referring to a person, NOT an organization. I told this person, they need to keep reading because Jesus is the one who sets free from sin. Jehovah's Witnesses are indoctrinated to believe that truth must be found in an organization. I've seen this with other religious groups where they are led to believe their church is the only TRUE church. When disillusion strikes these individuals because they've uncovered falsehood, lies or deception in their group they are still left with the question of "what church/group has the truth?" Instead, the New Testament continually points to a person for salvation and freedom. Our job is not to identify the true religion but rather to respond to a person and his work.
