The truth that sets free is Jesus!

Image
This person left a comment on one of my "shorts" where I describe the agenda in a JW Book Study. Ironically, for them the truth in John 8 is referring to a person, NOT an organization. I told this person, they need to keep reading because Jesus is the one who sets free from sin. Jehovah's Witnesses are indoctrinated to believe that truth must be found in an organization. I've seen this with other religious groups where they are led to believe their church is the only TRUE church. When disillusion strikes these individuals because they've uncovered falsehood, lies or deception in their group they are still left with the question of "what church/group has the truth?" Instead, the New Testament continually points to a person for salvation and freedom. Our job is not to identify the true religion but rather to respond to a person and his work. "and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32 "Jesus answered them, “Tru...

Approaching Two Jehovah's Witnesses to Discuss Christmas and Their Double Standard

Image
Happy New Year! The day after Christmas I approached two Jehovah's Witnesses and asked them their reasoning for not celebrating Christmas. My goal was not to get them to believe celebrating Christmas is acceptable but rather for them to see how they carry a double standard.  Jehovah's Witnesses are quick to call out Christendom for its supposed false teaching and pagan doctrines. However, what is considered a false teaching for other religions is simply a mistake or error when it's taught by the Watchtower. Secondly, if we take a look at the teachings JW's held during the time Jesus was supposedly inspecting all the churches, they were not the proper food at the proper time. They interpret Matthew 24:45-47 as a prophecy to mean God will appoint a "Faithful and Discreet Slave" to feed God's people. They currently teach the Faithful and Discreet Slave is their Governing Body. However, this teaching has changed over the years.  You can listen to my conversa...

Did Jesus' Body Rot in the Tomb? Talking to Jehovah's Witnesses about the Resurrection of Jesus

Image
Here is a conversion of two Jehovah's Witnesses I spoke to recently. I approached them and calmly asked them what happened to the resurrected Lord's body. They both said that Jesus' body rotted in the tomb. Honestly, I was taken aback by this and just rolled with it. What they said is not official Watchtower doctrine, so it was quite bizarre. The official Watchtower doctrine is that Jehovah did not let Jesus' body see decay. But, Jehovah's Witnesses do teach that Jesus resurrected as a spirit creature and re materialized in different forms after his resurrection. When I approach JW's I always like to ask questions about not being able to reconcile two things: Something the Bible said and something the Watchtower said. I then ask them to explain it to me because I'm confused. They consider themselves teachers of the Bible, therefore they are more than willing to help! But, in their attempt to help they open themselves up to hearing an opposing opinion a...

Unwitnessing Jehovah's Witnesses

Image
I just had an amazing conversation with two Jehovah's Witnesses. I was not expecting to run into them today. I pulled up to the store and looked up to see them right in front of me. I couldn't say, "not today Lord." We talked for thirty minutes and by the end of the conversation I had told them that the Watchtower Society was a false prophet and the "Good News" they shared with me is a false good news (gospel). Still, they shook my hand and the man said that I was a nice pers on! Please pray for this couple, I really believe the Lord has been working on the husband's heart. Below is a video I did about Beth Sarim which is one of the organization's false prophecies and which I talked to the couple about. Also, if JW's ever come to your door and you're unsure of what to say, just LISTEN to the message they initially share with you. Book a "Bible Study" with them and when they come by ask them where in the New Testament do you ...

There They Are!

While I was at work today, I looked out the window and two Jehovah's Witness women were walking by. Last week I had talked to two other Jehovah's Witness young women in the same spot. I asked a question about Jesus' Resurrection. The young girl (Alex) did not know how to answer my question, I gave her my number and she said she would research it and get back to me. She hasn't so far. A week prior I asked the same question to a group of JW's, I gave one, my number and address and she said she would call and visit me. She hasn't so far either. It seems my past is catching up with me. A little over a year ago two Jehovah's Witnesses came by. Maricela and Zari. Maricela came every week for several months and always brought someone different with her. I knew Zari, she had worked at my cat's vet. Maricela grew up as a JW. I spent the next few months asking them questions. Until one day Maricela brought an older women. This woman Cindy, wouldn't let me ge...
