Religious Chick

This morning as I was on my way to work I spotted two Jehovah's Witnesses. On the seat next to me was several old Watchtower publications which contained prophecies that did not come true. I thought for a moment if I should approach the two JW's and talk to them. I decided to pull over and park across the street from where they were walking. I carefully selected two books, put them in a shopping bag, locked my vehicle and headed toward the Witnesses. As I was waiting to cross the street I wondered why they were walking in an area where there were no people. In fact all of the stores they were walking in front of were closed. Also, in the opposite direction from where they were headed was a trolley stop with two bus stops. Why were they walking away from the people? I crossed the street and walked towards them. The following is my experience of attending a Kingdom Hall for five weeks straight. After each meeting and discussion with the Jehovah's Witnesses I wrote out my thoughts. Today for the first time I went to a Kingdom Hall. It is Sunday, I attended their Talk and Watchtower Study.  Last week on Wednesday I approached a group of Jehovah's Witnesses who were gathered in front of my apartment complex. I have never seen Jehovah's Witnesses in this area before. I was running two hours late and turned my car around to talk to them. For a second I thought that I would keep walking because some of them were on cell phones and seemed busy. However, I asked a group of them " What was the Good News of the Bible?" I engaged in a conversation with a young Jehovah's Witness and her brother, they are around my age.  I had tried to explain to them that the  Good News  they were preaching was not the Good News of the Bible. The other night on my way home from church I decided to stop at the grocery store to pick up a few things. I had a shiny rhinestone pin on that read Jesus . As I was looking for my favorite chips, a lady looked at me and exclaimed, "Oh! I LOVE your pin"! I was pretty excited thinking she must be a strong Christian because hardly anyone has ever commented on any Christian clothing I have worn. They just read it and quickly look away. So, I got into a discussion with this lady, whom I'll call A. She told me where she lived and what she did for a living. I asked her how long she had been a Christian, she told me she used to attend a Catholic church and just recently started attending a Calvary Chapel in January. I asked her if she read her Bible every morning. She told me how her and her husband missed Wednesday night Bible Study. I clarified my question, "No, I meant do you have personal devotions in the morning?" She told me she did not and maybe she should...

Thursday afternoon I went to a local bus/trolley stop and proclaimed Jesus Christ, I raised up a banner that said "Jesus Christ is God" and on the other side "Read God's Holy Bible" in bold letters. Many times people have seen the sign from far away while they are driving or walking and they come up to me to ask questions. One young man named Jonathan approached me and seemed rather interested in what I was doing and wanted to know the message I was telling people. I told him I was sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ; that Jesus came into the world, died and rose again on the third day. He started to tell me that that was not the Gospel, but I quickly quoted 1 Corinthians 15:1-5 to show him otherwise. I asked him if he died today where would he spend eternity, he told me the kingdom of God. As a Christian my responsibility is to do God's will. Frequently I go to bus stops, trolley stops, special events and talk to people about their purpose in life. God has definitely given me a love for the lost including Jehovah's Witnesses. Every year Jehovah's Witnesses hold their annual district convention. While ministering on the streets I have come across many Jehovah's Witnesses. They take pride in being the only ones who know God's name and say that the central theme of the Bible is to sanctify Jehovah's name. It grieves me to see so many people deceived by these false prophets; the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society. At the end of May I decided to go to their annual convention and lift up the NAME of Jesus, who's name is above every name, whose name we will bow our knees to (Phil 2:9-10), and whose name we must believe on to have eternal life (1 John 5:11-13). This summer I went to Comic Con in San Diego California. I talked to a man about his eternal destination. I asked him if he were to die today, where would his soul go, heaven or hell. He kept bringing up purgatory and I kept telling him there is no such thing. I talked to him for a while, gave him a gospel tract and havent seen him since like many others. Some Christians have asked me regarding the type of evangelism I do, "How effective is it?" Honestly, it does not matter how effective it is, we are commanded by Jesus to do it. We can effect people many different ways, one way that I have learned from Jesus is to proclaim the truth. Let's get out of our comfort zone today because tomorrow is not promised. If you died today where you would spend eternity? Heaven or Hell? Who will you listen to? Self-centered individuals who are afraid of offending anyone or God the Son?
