Jesus asked this same question to his disciples about what others thought of him and then asked what they thought of him. Jn.5:37: "And the Father himself, who sent me, has borne witness of me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. ‘Jesus gives the source of his commission, which is from the Father personally. It is the Fathers voice and form they have not seen, yet Christ has. Christ who is called the exact image of the invisible Father is the voice that the people heard. He then says that they search the Scriptures in them you think you have eternal life but they testify of me."(v.39) The Son is said to be the eternal life with the Father. Are we to believe the Scriptures testify of only a human being and not God himself? In the Bible, the common occupation of sowing seed is frequently used as a symbol of witnessing for the Lord. Unlike an actual farmer, however, Christian seed-sowers are to engage in their occupation perpetually, day after day, morning and evening, everywhere they go. “Cast thy bread upon the waters,” the wise Preacher said, “for thou shalt find it after many days” ( Ecclesiastes 11:1 ). The sowing is often difficult, but is necessary, before the fruit can grow, and the promise is that “they that sow in tears shall reap in joy” ( Psalm 126:5 ).  Often others may reap the fruit of our seed-sowing labors (or we may reap the fruit of theirs), but that is all right, for Christ Himself said that “one soweth, and another reapeth” so that “both he ...

Chapter 2 of Defending Your Faith discusses four misconceptions that skeptics have concerning Christianity. Misconception 1: “Christianity must be proven scientifically; I’ll accept Christianity when you prove it with the scientific method.” Christianity cannot be proven scientifically. When someone tries to prove something using the scientific method, they do so by having a controlled environment, where an experiment is repeated over and over again and observations are recorded. The central claims to Christianity are the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We cannot take Jesus kill and bury him and see if he resurrects again and again. Historical events are unrepeatable. Therefore, we cannot prove historical events using the scientific method. One must use the legal historical method of proof to prove an historical event. The harmony between science and faith          I believe science has been redefined in our culture. When most people hear the word science the idea of millions of years, the big bang, and macro evolution come to their mind. Science however is based on observations (using one or more of the five senses) and repeatable processes to gain knowledge about the world. This is known as observational science. The issue of Creation/Evolution is the study of the past.  We cannot repeat the past because it is history. Many people are so sure that they know how life began, however they were not there to witness it. There is not one living scientist that was there to observe the Big Bang that supposedly occurred 13-15 billion years ago, nor the rock formations that took millions of years.
