The Mother God Church strikes again! Dad, where is mom? That was the question a member of the World Mission Society Church of God asked me while I was shopping for pens in Walmart. The World Mission Society Church of God takes God and limits him/her to the abilities a human being. (P.S. God is not a woman.#sorrynotsorry)
In this video I provide a few helpful tips when dealing with this cult and others while walking you through an encounter I had with a woman from the WMSCOG. It’s important to remember that the goal of a good cult member is not to convince you of truth but to conform you to the cult image. Which is one of the reasons this woman would not share with me the secret hidden prophecies of Jesus Christ (South Korea Jesus, not New Testament Jesus). I texted her after our little encounter in Walmart and she refused to share with me the truth that would save my soul! As someone who believes in evangelizing the lost (New Testament style), I could not imagine meeting someone on the street and telling them, “hey sorry I can’t actually explain the way of eternal life to you without you coming to our Bible Study”. The bottom line is that if your church practices these types of tactics you need to run.

Here are a few tips when dealing with this cult:

1. Define your terms (Ex. What do you mean by father, god, etc? What limitations do a humans have that God doesn't?)
2. They will approach you with a ton of information. Don't feel overwhelmed. Chill it's okay. You do not need to be on the defensive.
3. Build a bridge and get to know them as a person not just a cult member. It’s helpful to
just slow them down and take time to ask personal questions. This will allow you to develop compassion for them as someone made in God’s image and give you time to respond reasonably and not emotionally.

 4. Pick one or two points you would like to convey to them.
Like I mentioned earlier, they will approach you with many topics, mother god, Saturday Sabbath, Passover keeping, and Veil of Regulation (yikes!). Don’t feel the need to respond to everything, pick a topic or two, stick with it and pray that God the Holy Spirit will do the rest.

I pray this woman I met will come to the realization that the WMSCOG is not the true church of God and find true redemption in Jesus Christ (Not Ahn Sahng-hong).

Approaching Two Jehovah's Witnesses to Discuss Christmas and Their Double Standard

  Happy New Year! The day after Christmas I approached two Jehovah's Witnesses and asked them their reasoning for not celebrating Christmas. My goal was not to get them to believe celebrating Christmas is acceptable but rather for them to see how they carry a double standard.  Jehovah's Witnesses are quick to call out Christendom for its supposed false teaching and pagan doctrines. However, what is considered a false teaching for other religions is simply a mistake or error when it's taught by the Watchtower. Secondly, if we take a look at the teachings JW's held during the time Jesus was supposedly inspecting all the churches, they were not the proper food at the proper time. They interpret Matthew 24:45-47 as a prophecy to mean God will appoint a "Faithful and Discreet Slave" to feed God's people. The truth that sets free is Jesus!

This person left a comment on one of my "shorts" where I describe the agenda in a JW Book Study. Ironically, for them the truth in John 8 is referring to a person, NOT an organization. I told this person, they need to keep reading because Jesus is the one who sets free from sin. Jehovah's Witnesses are indoctrinated to believe that truth must be found in an organization. I've seen this with other religious groups where they are led to believe their church is the only TRUE church. When disillusion strikes these individuals because they've uncovered falsehood, lies or deception in their group they are still left with the question of "what church/group has the truth?" Instead, the New Testament continually points to a person for salvation and freedom. Our job is not to identify the true religion but rather to respond to a person and his work.
